Kids at home first opened its doors in Toronto's Beaches neighbourhood in 2003. The store quickly gained a following of loyal customers thanks to its collection of hand-picked Canadian furniture and unique, eclectic pieces.
In 2014, the Beaches stores closed its doors and looked towards a re-launch in a new location and new management but with the same philosophy: inspiring furniture for the modern Canadian kids' lifestyle.
We have re-opened our doors on May 8th 2016 in the heart of Leslieville and we look forward to serving Canadian families.
It all started with a birthday cake, while celebrating my wife's birthday with our friends. One friend told us about the local furniture store “Kids at home” closing its doors. I loved that store; it's where I purchased all of my son's furniture and I really liked its unique selection of Canadian-made pieces. The next day, I picked up the phone and contacted Marg, the owner of kids at home for 10 years.
My curiosity to learn more about the kids furniture industry was fueled by my personal needs. As a father of three, my kids' room needed to be as inspiring, fun and practical as the rest of our home. I had planned a "short" meeting with Marg, which turned into a wonderful four-hour lunch. I discovered the potential of this very niche industry, and it triggered my bold move from Bay Street to Main Street!
Kids at home v2.0 has a fresh new outlook based on the same philosophy: to bring to Canadian parents a selection of locally-made modern furniture and lifestyle goods. The new members of the kids at home team share one goal: to transmit our passion and love for this business to our clients. We want to ensure that our fans and new followers get a memorable experience when walking into our newly designed store.
